Welcome to The Nacogdoches Downtown Business Association!

"The downtowns of our cities comprise a relatively small portion of the city geographic area, but they are immensely important in determining the image and the economic well-being of the city and the metropolitan region. Downtowns are very unique and special places with a character not found in outlying parts of the city, and certainly not found in suburbs. This character is very special, and it is something that government officials and city residents should make an effort to preserve and enhance. Once the special qualities that make our downtowns special are destroyed, it is unlikely they can ever be replaced"

This quote was from a newsletter our organization receives and is a nice reminder of why we all chose to be in business in downtown Nacogdoches. We are fortunate our downtown is naturally attractive and has historical significance.

There are many businesses in the downtown area and while not all of them are members of the downtown association, and thus not listed here, they all join us in welcoming you to Nacogdoches.

The Downtown Business Association (DBA) meets the second Wednesday of each month at 9:00 AM in the basement of the CVB. Membership is open to downtown property owners, business owners, the employees of downtown businesses, and anyone else interested in the future of downtown Nacogdoches.
Current officers are:
Betty Shinn - President
Andi Rigy - Vice President

The Nacogdoches Convention & Visitor's Bureau (CVB) is located at 200 E. Main Street, in the middle of the square in downtown Nacogdoches. Business hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM Saturday, and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM Sunday. Inside this beautifully restored Federal building are displays of historic interest, tourist information, and public restrooms. Visitors to downtown can request a parking permit at the front desk to avoid the worry of parking over the allotted time limit in the downtown area. The grounds of the CVB are beautifully landscaped and markers detail some of our rich history. A stage on the back of the building is the site of music venues and public gatherings. Melissa Sanford is the Director, and she and her staff and the volunteer Tejas Greeters will be glad to assist you in anyway they can. The telephone number is 936-564-7351, or 888-OLDEST-TOWN and the web site is www.visitnacogdoches.org.

Nacogdoches is a Texas Main Street City. Since 1998, the downtown has flourished under the program with enhanced period lighting, street scapes, public and private reinvestment, and community events. Sarah Hueber is the Main Street Manager and the contact for downtown properties available for purchase or rent. Her office is in City Hall on the back side of the square and her telephone number is 936-559-2573 and the City web site is www.ci.nacogdoches.tx.us
